Course Introduction

Xingyi Quan belongs to Neijia Quan, one of the traditional Chinese martial arts. The original name is Xinyi Quan, that is, integration of mind and spiritspirit and  qi、qi and forceshoulder and crotch elbow and kneehand and feet.  Popular in northern China, it is divided into three systems: Hebei, Shanxi and Henan, and the way to play is go straight ahead.  It is relaxed appearance with mental tension and eclectic in shape, also it has varied stylistic features in playing characteristic. When practicing this exercise, there is a deeper and further experience, there will be a sense of movement with qi as the axis, which is called the “Qi axis”.

The basic content of Xinyi Quan is the Three Elements  Style Standing, the Wuxing Quan and the Shierxing Quan.  The three elements style are a unique basic skill and internal strength training method of Xinyi Quan, and is known as “All dharma are originated from Three elements style“.  Wuxing Quan combines the ideas of the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire and earth.  They are Pi Quan (gold), Zuan Quan (water), Beng Quan (wood), Pao Quan (fire), and Heng Quan (earth).   Shierxing Quan is composed of twelve basic fist techniques which form by absorbing the advantages and features of dragon, tiger, monkey, horse, alligator, cock, swallow, sparrow hawk, snake, chinese ostrich, eagle and bear, combining the fist forms, applying the principle of practicality of skillful attack and the method of reflecting the meaning by the shape.
